About Premier Inn Oban
A generous breakfast selection and an on-site restaurant and bar set the tone at Premier Inn Oban, on Shore Street by the harbour. The evening menu doesn't always match the strength of the breakfast offering, but there's no shortage of choice to start the day before heading out to explore, and the bar is a straightforward spot for a drink once you're back.
The hotel has 80 rooms, each en-suite with tea and coffee facilities and drinks available in-room, plus air conditioning and family and accessible room options. There's a lift serving all four floors, free WiFi throughout, and an electric vehicle charge point, with chargeable parking available at the front and side of the building.
The location by the ferry and train station makes this a practical base for reaching Mull and Iona, and staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful. Golf, fishing and watersports are all within reach nearby, alongside other pubs, restaurants and entertainment options in the surrounding area.
What guests say
Great location, however beware of the parking charges and ensure you park in the correct place ! Rooms are now becoming tired and the food offered in the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired, that is unless you like dry microwaved produce ! Breakfast is now a buffet style and quality on offer has rapidly gone downhill. The fried eggs are undercooked in advance, served cold with a skin on top of the yolk🤮 The restaurant/cafe has zero atmosphere and the quality of food is dreadful ! Patrons / Guests should try the local restaurants within walking distance as the produce is miles better ! It’s also worth checking what is offered on the so called meal deal … as supplements apply for various items of food and drinks.

We stayed at the Premier Inn Oban as a family of three in late May and were very pleasantly surprised, both by the hotel itself and by Oban as a destination. It's a lovely town with plenty to see and do, making it a great base for a family break. We took the car to explore the surrounding area and visited a number of local attractions, including McCaig's Tower, Dunstaffnage Castle, and the Oban Distillery, which was fantastic. I'd also highly recommend a trip to Glencoe, which is only around a 30-minute drive away. The scenery is breathtaking, there's plenty of history for those interested, and you'll find some excellent pubs along the way. The Premier Inn is superbly located right in the centre of town. You're within easy walking distance of the many pubs, restaurants and the distillery, meaning you can enjoy a drink without worrying about driving afterwards. The ferry terminal is also only a couple of minutes' walk away, making it ideal if you're planning any island trips. While this isn't the cheapest Premier Inn I've stayed in, that's to be expected given the limited accommodation available in Oban and its popularity as a tourist destination. The hotel is a modern building, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the bathrooms are clean and well maintained. As with most Premier Inns, you know you're getting a consistently good standard of accommodation. The food represents very good value. The breakfast was excellent every morning, which is something I've come to expect from Premier Inn. Dinner isn't fine dining, but it's perfectly enjoyable and reasonably priced. The meal deals are particularly good value, offering a filling breakfast and evening meal with a drink for a very fair price. The staff were all friendly and helpful, but two people deserve a special mention. Firstly, Stephen behind the bar, who was excellent throughout our stay and is one of the reasons I'd happily recommend the hotel (wink!). Secondly, a lovely Ukrainian lady who worked both on reception and in the restaurant. Unfortunately, I've forgotten her name, but she was consistently welcoming, professional and a real credit to the hotel. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would happily return if we visit Oban again. A great hotel in a brilliant location and an excellent base for exploring one of Scotland's most beautiful coastal towns.

Good parking with easy to use pay machine. All staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Room was spotless, comfortable bed and quiet. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Very hairy with our stay. Catered for coeliac disease so that was lovely.

This hotel suited our 2-person needs well for one night. We had the larger room with a fridge and the extra space was much appreciated. The walk to downtown Oban was 5 minutes or less and very easy to navigate to. The automatic check-in machines seemed to require much more details than traditional in-person check-ins, so we switched to that half way through to save ourselves the trouble of inputting passport details. The parking area for the hotel was full so we parked in a public lot just next to the hotel parking and it was reasonably priced (£7.50 for 24 hours rather than £5 that the hotel would have charged)
