Very poor experience with the property. Could not attend my booking due to a family emergency, asked for a refund and was told no due to their policy - fine. Instead asked to change the dates so I don’t lose out. No response from the property, reached out another two times and was told I need to go through booking.com (which is what I was doing) so I reiterated this to them and that it was them who needed to accept my date change request. No response from them. Reached out via booking.com customer service who reached out to the property on my behalf and got the same response so did it again. Was told to change the dates I needed to pay an extra £25? I refused as the new dates I selected where the same price as my original booking. Heard nothing else from the property after I messaged them yet again, by now my booking date had passed so I went directly to booking.com to get a refund. Property responded no. I’ve now raised a dispute with my bank and will be taking this to a manager. Absolutely shocking customer service and communication.

When I tried to take a shower at 10:30 pm on a winter night, there was no hot water, only cold water. I tried for 20 minutes, but it was still cold water. I can tolerate the old facilities and the lack of contact personnel at night, but I cannot accept that a hotel cannot even provide the most basic hot water for a shower.

Went to Oxford at night and didn't have a place to stay and can't go back home(chester). Booked this hotel just in time on 10:58pm, check in time is till 11pm. He called me and told me the pass code to the keys. The rooms are clean as well. 5⭐️

Basic room, had all the necessary amenities. TV signal wasn’t amazing. Room smelt heavily of cigarettes, the bathroom bin hadn’t been emptied from previous guests, parts of the room were dusty, noisy at night. The bathroom was nice. Suitable for a one night stay on a budget.
