Very good service. The staff helped us with our luggages up the stairs. Super convenient location. Generally pretty clean space, very clean bathroom, main entrance has a buzzer for entering. The morning shift lady was very nice. Thank you. We had a great stay

The entrance to this hotel isn't very impressive. The front window is boarded up, reception is on first floor via lift or stairs. Once inside the hotel it's a different story, lovely architecture, and rooms are lovely. The bathroom has a lovely rainfall shower, and plenty of tea and coffee supplied and nice biscuits. The disappointment for me was the incompetence of reception staff. After my four day stay from the 24th to 28th of May, Apparently I never stayed there! Upon checking out, and receiving a ticket when they stored my luggage, on arrival back at the hotel to collect my luggage. They said they had no reservation for me to check in. This felt like it was done purposely. I was a well behaved guest who never caused any problems for staff. Next time I'm in Oxford I'll book a hotel that appreciates my custom.

APPROACH WITH CAUTION!!! The location of this hotel is great, I booked it quickly needing aircon on a hot day. It is not 5 star as advertised barely scratching 3. No restaurant or bar, which I was only told about after I had paid. Grim entrance off the Main Street but fine for last minute, or so I thought. I walked into someone complaining straight away. I felt bad for the staff here they are lovely and whoever owns and runs this place is egotistical and dare I say narcissistic. See below negative reviews where the director literally shouts at people voicing their concerns. I was grateful for the aircon, the rooms are old with 80s carpet - despite a renovation in 2017. ??!! Regardless my issue with this hotel is the way ive been treated since I had a problem. I tried to sleep for 2.5 hours on the first night and due to being windowless there is a vent and it was soooo loud and whirring non stop. At nearly 3am I went to reception and said I cant sleep can you either fix the noise or change my room. The night guard said oh it's not supposed to be like that we will move you in the morning. When I finally got to sleep after 2 sleeping tablets- I woke to go and speak again to reception and say I needed a new room.I was told there are only windowless ones left, and vents are the same in those rooms. I was late to meet friends (due to bad sleep) and said I need to go now , can I leave my bag here and you can confirm when the other room is ready that the noise is not happening in the new room? I was assured the manager would let me know, I said I am out all day and call me please to confirm as I wont be able to sleep if it's the same. No call came and by time id finished my. boat trip I rang at 9.30 and said I need a refund and to cancel as you haven't confirmed to me there would be no noise from the vent. The person on the phone said fine and didnt say ANYTHING that I wouldnt get my money back. I then had to wait 24 hours after I got my bag to get an email. I was offered 50% back for friday but nothing for Saturday . Since then the director has been nothing short of rude, telling me I am wrong, everyone else sleeps fine, im the problem, I just didnt want to come 'after id been out all night' etc etc. The rudeness is astounding. Everything accept assisting me the customer, her attitude is way off and I am appalled how she has lectured me, saying why should they lose revenue etc. Those rooms with vents aren't fit to sleep in with constant noise.Selling them without telling customers of the noise is false advertising, as is having a 5* sign when you haven't even got a restaurant. I want to make it clear the staff here are lovely , the aircon was great and shower good, and im sure the rooms with balconies are nicer too and less noise issues but if something does go wrong the customer is always wrong. So be aware this is management modus operandi . (expect a rude response below to this from calling me rude etc). All I expect when I pay is for what I asked for (a good sleep) and businesses to listen to me as a consumer. The owner did not do that. I appreciate the money back for friday but it ruined the start of my weekend and then also meant I had to sleep on a sofa which although was not ideal, there was no disturbing noise. However I still paid nearly 300 for sleeping on my friends sofa. Make it make sense. Please read other reviews and before you book.

I’m not sure why this is listed as a 5 star hotel. The location is pretty central but how can you be a 5 star hotel if you have no lobby, no views, no restaurant, and no bar? There is a weird door you enter to get into the hotel like an old time speakeasy. The rooms are incredibly small and pretty dated actually. If you have luggage it is difficult to move around the room. There are no lamps. Just overhead lights and some weird reading lights that may or may not work. The rooms are close together. Our neighbor’s conversation audible. At best, this is a 3 star property. If you’re okay with that, good. If you think you’re getting a 5 star hotel beware of false claims. We could’ve done better.
