About Euro Bar and Hotel

A bar and breakfast room form the social heart of Euro Bar and Hotel, on George Street right in the middle of Oxford. The on-site bar and restaurant give guests somewhere to eat and drink without stepping outside, and there's a snack bar too, while breakfast is served each morning to set guests up for the day. The buzz from downstairs does mean the hotel suits those happy to be near the action rather than anyone wanting an early night.

The 13 rooms vary in condition: some have been recently refreshed, though others show signs of wear, and noise can carry, particularly for rooms closer to the bar. Extras across the property include air conditioning, drinks available in room, free WiFi, and a lift for easier access. There's also an indoor swimming pool and a spa and sauna on site, plus a garden for a quieter moment.

Beyond the guest rooms, the hotel handles meetings and weddings, with meeting rooms, business services, porter and concierge support, and childcare available on request. Free on-site parking and an electric vehicle charge point cover practical needs, and the George Street address puts pubs, restaurants and entertainment within easy reach.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this hotel. What should have been a simple stay turned into what honestly felt like a scam. After we checked out, the hotel charged us £100 for “damage” that was already present in the room when we arrived. Management sent us photos as proof and claimed we should have reported it immediately or taken our own pictures upon arrival. Apparently guests are now expected to conduct a full forensic inspection of the room the moment they walk in. The “damage” they accused us of included things like a stain on the ceiling that clearly did not happen during our stay. Who realistically walks into a hotel room and starts photographing ceilings and furniture just in case the hotel decides to blame them later? Instead of handling the situation fairly, management immediately sided with their accusation and refused to take any responsibility. The whole process felt incredibly dishonest and unprofessional. This experience left a very bad impression and I would strongly advise future guests to be extremely careful. If you stay here, you might want to photograph every inch of the room when you arrive — because apparently the hotel will happily charge you for things that were already there.

Absolutely appalling experience I booked a room for one night On returning at 11pm I discovered that the bar downstairs had a full on party with music so loud that the vibrations were palpable in my room. The security gaurd said it would be finishing at 2am So I left and went back to London on the night bus I will be asking for a refund The room was clean enough but the shower fittings were falling apart and inadequate repairs had been done to the electrical component which I will be reporting to the council.

Stayed in room 12, which has been recently renovated. The bar noise wasn't so bad as we were on the highest floor. Make sure you take pictures before staying in case there's damage.

AVIOD THIS HOTEL!! Located just above a night club and the music continues until 1.30am, so don't expect a good nights sleep. The rooms was in a terrible state of disrepair, toilet seat was broken, loo roll holder coming off the wall, shower fittings falling apart. The entire place had a horrid acrid small throughout. Entrance partially blocked which was a fire hazard. Walls were mouldy
