About The Randolph Hotel Oxford, a Graduate by Hilton Hotel

For visitors who want to feel properly looked after while exploring Oxford on foot, The Randolph Hotel Oxford, a Graduate by Hilton Hotel, makes a fitting base. It occupies a landmark position on Beaumont Street, within walking distance of the city's historic colleges and attractions, and suits anyone drawn to traditional grandeur over minimalist design.

Rooms are comfortable and spacious, with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, drinks in room and the option of room service, and beds that guests consistently single out as a highlight. There's a restaurant and bar on site, along with a spa and sauna, and breakfast is well regarded. Kids' meals, accessible rooms, laundry service and concierge support round out the practical side, while meeting rooms and business services make it workable for those combining sightseeing with work. Staff are generally friendly and helpful, though service has occasionally been noted as inconsistent.

Beyond the hotel, the surrounding area offers walking and cycling routes, nearby pubs and bars, and options for golf, fishing, horse riding and watersports further afield. Pets are welcome, and valet parking and luggage storage take care of the logistics of arriving with the car or a lot of bags.

We stayed at The Randolph Oxford for two nights. First of all, the hotel’s concept, atmosphere, and location are genuinely beautiful. The building has a lot of character, and the staff were also very attentive and helpful throughout our stay. However, for a hotel that cost around £880 for two nights, I do think some parts need to be updated. The lighting in the rooms was quite poor, and the minibars felt old and did not cool properly. Even though the rooms are designed with a classic concept, some details made them feel more outdated than charming. I was also disappointed with the late-night room service options. For this price level, having only toast, one or two other simple options, and a few pizzas felt quite limited. Overall, the location, atmosphere, and staff were very good, but considering the price, I expected the rooms and facilities to feel more modern and better maintained. Mert Guney

I had a gorgeous time in the spa. I had a serenity massage with Kamila, it was absolutely wonderful, I would not be able to fault any part of it. The thermal suite was very relaxing and I thoroughly enjoyed the newly renovated relaxation room with well thought out snacks.

The staff were cheerful, polite and attentive, offering exceptional service. The building and public areas transport you to a forgotten era defined by calm and elegance. Unfortunately our room was in the attic. Whilst it was a good size and furnished with the same charm and elegance, the attic structure, limited natural light and atmospheric decor made it feel a little claustrophobic. As you can see, our view was definitely more utility pipes than dreaming spires. We mentioned this to reception, the manager gave us the option of an upgrade, but as we were heading out for a dinner reservation decided against repacking, unpacking and incurring further costs. Overall, a pleasant stay, but room 408 did not feel like good value for the amount we paid. Then.... the lift broke down. The only one to the 4th floor, the Attic rooms. Unpredictable and no-one's fault, but a real inconvenience. 🙄 PS. If you really want 5* amenities, take your own toilet paper, theirs is very cheap.

This was my second time staying at the Randolph. First time was 4 years ago and I really enjoyed the experience, this time I stayed with my husband and my 2 months old baby. It was a different experience and in my opinion the hotel has lowered its standards and it's not a family friendly hotel. The room assigned to us had from the lift 4 steps to do with the pram, this was a lack of attention to the details from their perspective. It was the hotei responsibility to check if the room was step free access. In the bathroom there wasn't the toilet brush and no vanity kit, the same in my parents room. A 5 star hotel I expect to get these basics objects. The mini fridge and the ac were very noisy. I understand the cot is standard to be provided by the hotels but babies are different depending on their age and a 2 months old baby wouid be better to have him at the same height of the parents bed. If the hotel wants to be family friendly I advise to get a Moses basket for smaller babies. The breakfast wasn't as good as I remembered. First it was very hot in Oxford since the morn and all the buffet was open to the elements of the environment. Although salami and yogurt were on a cold base, with that heatwave, I think they had to be covered and better storaged. It was a healthy hazard. I expected more attention to the buffet from a 5 stars hotel. Also in the afternoon we ordered some drinks from the bar (5) and it took 20 minutes to get them. Positive things, valet service very worth it and good service. Possibility to storage luggages very good. Luggages delivered in the room. I told these things at the check out and I was heard.
