What guests say
Had a wonderful experience at The Chequers at Burcot. Everything we ordered was prepared to a high standard and tasted delicious. The Sunday roast was a real highlight, featuring a perfectly cooked Yorkshire pudding and beautifully golden roasted potatoes. We also really enjoyed the fresh salad topped with anchovies. It is rare to find such consistent quality across every plate. We will definitely be back soon.

Needed a last minute stay near Oxford and stumbled upon this gem online! What a venue! The food in the pub was to die for! Quality ingredients, incredible taste. We’ll definitely be back even if just to grab a bite to eat. Staff were super friendly and helpful! From checking in to serving us. Lovely ladies. The rooms were so cute, small but all we needed… and modern! The size of the bathroom was a tardis and the finish was gorgeous. The skylight in the bedroom was so nice too. Underfloor heating was fab.

We made a detour for lunch, and it was worth it! A huge menu to choose from. A reasonable range of prices across starters, mains and sides: ranging from £9 up to £70 for a whole lobster. I actually had two sides and that was plenty. The sausage and mash was super tasty. There is parking but it does get busy and is quite tight if the car park is full. There are electric car charge points too. We sat outside as it was a sunny day, there's covered areas for eating out too.

Went for lunch - did not stay. All comments are for food. Fish and Chips were excellent. Crispy batter, fish cooked just right. Burger also very good - served Pink which is a rarity these days. The Caesar salad and the pate were also great. Highly recommended for something to eat.
