About Tything Barn Naturist Site

Tything Barn unfolds across 23 acres of ancient quarries, springy meadows and saltmarsh foreshore overlooking the mile-wide Cleddau Estuary – a naturist haven where you're free to be dressed or undressed as the mood takes you. Tidal lagoons invite swimming when the water's in, while children crab in the exposed "gullums" at low tide. The setting feels genuinely peaceful: sometimes the estuary lies so still that Upton Woods opposite reflect deep and clear in the water. Mullet shoal up the channels on incoming tides, rewarding patient anglers, and there are badminton courts, a boules pitch and a croquet lawn to keep you busy between dips.

Facilities cover the basics well – clean shower blocks, laundry, fridges and freezers – plus there are log cabins and cottages available if you'd rather not pitch a tent. Reviewers love the tranquil, welcoming atmosphere and spectacular scenery, though some note the site can feel a little tired in places. Still, for like-minded naturists seeking beautiful coastal walks and friendly company in West Wales, Tything Barn delivers something genuinely special.

What visitors say

Chris Balmont

Amazing campsite, very relaxed, miles of cut grass tracks to wonder along, a lagoon to swim in, and brilliant managers Fran and Dan.

Paid a third visit with my partner in June 2025 and unfortunately, the experience was spoilt by the behaviour of Dan, one of the managers, he seems to have a problem with pettiness and over reaction to the smallest of issues, lacking any sense of proportionality when dealing with visitors. I wasn't directly affected myself, it was witnessed by my partner and also two of my friends also staying at the campsite; which is a shame because it's a lovely place to stay, but, Dan needs to sort his personal issues out. Edit in response to reply: I ask you to delete this response as it contains lies, constitutes libel, and also it's taken you nearly a year to come up with this reply. I initially camped in an incorrect place that was not sign posted as such, and moved as soon as I was asked to. I camped here two years previously, without any problems, and no, I did not have any inappropriate items on view, nor have I ever trespassed on the site. I did, however, have a medical device of a private nature inside the tent, so obviously you must have been snooping around in there to have seen it... If you don't remove these unfounded allegations, I shall seek legal advice.

Lovely welcome from Fran and Dan as always. They are real nature lovers and put a lot of thought (and work) into making this huge site nature and wildlife friendly. The local landscape is as lovely as ever and nice surroundings for cycling and walking. I have even swum in the (on-site) lagoon - surprisingly warm. Dan has put a lot of work into improving the shower area, which is now very smart & welcoming. This peaceful site has a special magic as the tide creeps in from the estuary. We love it.
