About The Craigie Hotel
The Craigie Hotel suits travellers who want an uncomplicated, well-equipped base in Midlothian rather than a destination in itself - families breaking a journey, wedding guests, or anyone visiting Penicuik who'd rather park for free than hunt for a space. Its location on Bog Road puts it within reach of Edinburgh Zoo for a day out, with Slateford also accessible by road for those heading further into the city.
Rooms are en-suite, with family rooms available for those travelling with children, and kids' meals on the menu for younger guests. The hotel runs its own restaurant and bar, serves breakfast, and offers room service and drinks brought straight to your room. Outside, there's a garden and picnic area with outdoor seating, useful on a decent day, plus a bridal suite and meeting rooms for weddings and small gatherings.
Practical extras include free WiFi, 24-hour reception, luggage storage and free on-site parking, so arriving late or leaving early isn't an issue. Beyond the hotel, the surrounding area offers walking routes, nearby pubs and restaurants, and fishing spots for those who want to fill a spare afternoon.
