Pentland Pod works equally well for couples after seclusion or families needing a compact rural base. The single bedroom holds a double bed, while a sofa bed in the living area accommodates two children. Everything happens on one floor in an open plan layout: kitchen, dining area, lounge and sleeping space flow together, with a shower room to one side. Electric underfloor heating keeps things warm; wifi and parking for two cars are provided.

The kitchen is properly equipped—hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher—so you can cook properly rather than rely on takeaways. Beyond the glass doors, a wood-fired hot tub sits in the garden with space for four, and decking at the entrance catches the views across the surrounding field. The location is rural quiet yet practical: Edinburgh city centre is half an hour's drive away, while Midlothian itself has woodland walks, mountain biking at Glentress, and adventure courses within reach. No smoking inside the property.
