Stayed at Albany House for five nights while hiking in the Lake District and couldn’t have been happier with my choice. Susan and Archie were fantastic hosts, warm, welcoming and genuinely accommodating throughout my stay. A special mention to Susan, who went above and beyond with my dietary requirements. Breakfast was excellent every morning, with a wide variety of fresh, high quality food that set me up perfectly for a day in the fells. The room was spotless, comfortable and quiet, and the location is ideal, a 5 min walk from the town centre, bus station and train station. I was initially a little hesitant about the bathroom not being en-suite, but it turned out to be a complete non-issue. It was private, immaculately clean and always available whenever I needed it. Excellent value for money and a place I’d happily stay at again. Thank you Susan and Archie! 🙏

Me and my 3 friends recently stayed here for 3 nights whilst riding 🚵♂️ the Coast 2 Coast. An ideal location to be based for our trip. The owners were friendly, helpful and could not of been more helpful. The quality and choice of breakfast was amazing and really set us up for the day. The property is an traditional three storey Victorian terrace close to a road, and the premises has stairs to the rooms, in no way did any of this affect our total enjoyment of staying there, we would totally recommend this top place.

Stayed for one night with my husband as we were seeing a show in Penrith, will definitely stay here again when in the area. Great location, rooms and ensuite are immaculate, breakfast was delicious and the owners are so lovely and attentive. Thank you for a lovely stay. There is a cat park over the road and you can park for free outside after 6pm and on a Sunday. X
