Loch Tummel stretches across the landscape here, surrounded by forest and mountain, with Clunie Dam Lodge positioned on four acres that run down to the water's edge. The setting is quiet and secluded, yet within reach of Perth and Kinross; this is the gateway to the central Highlands, where the terrain shifts from lowland to something wilder.
The lodge itself is built on a single level, making it straightforward to move around. Three bedrooms sleep six: two doubles and one twin. There is one shower room. The kitchen comes equipped for proper cooking—oven, hob, dishwasher—and a woodburner warms the living space. Wifi, heating, bed linen and towels are included. The grounds hold what makes this place distinctive: a wood-fired hot tub for four, a fully glazed sauna, a stone-built fire pit and barbecue, and direct access to the loch itself, which means kayaking, paddling or swimming from your own garden. An outdoor shower lets you rinse off afterwards. There is private parking for three cars, bike storage, and kennels if you are bringing a dog. A travel cot and highchair are available for younger children.
The enclosed garden has seating and furniture; the grounds beyond include woodland. Note that the land slopes down to the loch and there are steps in the gardens. The lodge does not permit smoking. This works well for families, groups of friends or anyone wanting a few days beside Highland water without leaving the property.
