Riverside Cottage

Riverside Cottage comes with everything needed for a self-catering stay: Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all covered, along with the initial fuel for the woodburner. The kitchen is fitted out for proper cooking, with an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. Both bedrooms have Freeview Smart TVs, and there's a walk-in shower. Parking for two cars is on site.

The cottage sits in Blair Atholl, a village on the southern edge of the Cairngorms National Park. Bedrooms total two: one with a kingsize bed, the other a three-quarter double. The living room centres on a woodburner. Outside, an enclosed back garden with patio and a front garden with furniture mean there's space to settle in. The village has shops, a tearoom and the Atholl Arms Hotel within walking distance, and a pub is less than a mile away.

The area is strong on outdoor activities. Hill walks and easier rambles spread across the landscape; mountain biking, fishing, pony trekking and watersports are all available locally. Blair Castle is nearby, and golfers have a nine-hole course in the village plus four more within half an hour's drive. The Falls of Bruar, known for canyoning, lies close by. No smoking is permitted inside.
