Lick Estate - Tummel Cottage

Perth and Kinross

Tummel Cottage sits on an active farming estate in Perth and Kinross, where the working landscape of beef cattle and sheep surrounds you. The single-storey property is yours alone, set up for two people with a zip-and-link bed that can be configured as two singles if needed. An open-plan living space includes a woodburner, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, and French doors onto a lawned garden with patio and barbecue. One bathroom serves the bedroom. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are covered; wifi works reliably despite the rural setting.

The estate's main draw for many guests is the fishing: a mile of shoreline on Loch Tummel and two private lochs within the grounds offer accessible casting spots. Beyond that, the surrounding country holds ospreys, pine martens, red deer and golden eagles. Walking and cycling trails cross the region, while Pitlochry—10 miles south—houses a theatre with year-round performances, two whisky distilleries, restaurants and shops. The annual Highland Games and Enchanted Forest take place nearby. One dog is welcome. Smoking is not permitted inside.

Absolutely beautiful area on Loch Tummel in Perthshire. Follow the A9 just past the Pitlochry turn off on the right you will see the Fonnab Hotel and just past that on the right you come to the turn off for Foss. Take that road and follow for about 3 1/2 miles. Stunning views and great little places for wild camping, which I will be doing a bit of myself when I’m back on the motorcycle.
