River Cottage

River Cottage is a detached holiday home in Perthshire countryside, recently refurbished, where the main draw is immediate access to woodland and walking. The river that borders the grounds attracts deer and visiting wildlife; the enclosed decked area and garden furniture face out over the natural landscape. Two bedrooms sleep four—a double and two singles—with one bathroom, a wood-burning stove in the living room, and a kitchen equipped for self-catering. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are included, as are initial logs for the stove.

The cottage suits those after a rural base for walking rather than a destination in itself. The Cateran Trail is nearby, and footpaths begin at the property. Kirkmichael has shops and pubs three miles away; Pitlochry is ten miles, with Glenshee ski area twenty miles distant. There is an unfenced river adjacent to the grounds, which matters if you're travelling with young children. No smoking indoors. One car can park on site.
