About The Bankfoot Inn

Main Street in Perth sets the scene for The Bankfoot Inn, a compact six-room hotel with the surrounding Perth and Kinross countryside close at hand and Elcho Castle nearby for those keen to explore local history. It's the kind of place where the setting does double duty: a proper town base with easy access to walking and cycling routes, and fishing spots for anyone wanting to get out onto the water.

Rooms are en-suite and comfortably furnished, with family rooms available and drinks provided in-room. The inn has a restaurant and bar on site, serving a full Scottish breakfast alongside vegetarian options, with portions generous enough to set guests up for a day out. Packed lunches can be arranged for those heading off walking or cycling, and there's outdoor seating for warmer days. Free WiFi, 24-hour reception, laundry service and free on-site parking round out the practical side, and pets are welcome.

Staff are known for being friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is consistently described as cosy rather than grand, which suits a six-room inn well. With a pub, restaurant and eatery all nearby, and Dunkeld and Birnam within reach for a longer excursion, The Bankfoot Inn works well as a straightforward, well-run stop in Perth.

My brother and I stayed here on Sunday the 5 July 2026 on our trip to the Highlands.. and I must say I would most definitely stay again. The Inn itself has a lovely ambience and cosy feel to it, staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, our rooms was very clean and comfortable. The evening meal we had was very nice as was the breakfast in the morning. Hopefully get to stay again in the near future.

Popped in for lunch. Cozy wee pub. Nicely decorated. Lovely staff. Scampi really good and ample portion. Hubby went for his usual - steak pie. He said it's the best he has ever tasted - meat, gravy and pastry. Only one complaint, not enough of it 😋 Compliments to the chef. We will definitely up in , if up that way again.

A lovely place for lunch , delightful service and delicious food. We had starters - Breaded mushrooms (6) Garlic mayo, side salad, and Mini Kiev's (3), garlic mayo, side salad, plus sides to share of Onion Rings (best I've ever had, crispy, light), and perfect Skin on Chips. Stopped on our way across Scotland from Northumberland. Well worth stopping!

We recently booked the Bankfoot Inn and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. On arrival we got a warm welcome from the pub manager who showed us to our very bright cosy room with its own bathroom overlooking the front of the building. We had dinner in the pub offering a wide choice of dishes which was great and all prepared by the resident chef. Breakfast was cooked by the owner's mum and it was probably one of the best breakfasts I've eaten in a long time! The inn is dog friendly and only charged an additional £10 for our pet. Overall the inn is terrific value for money and well worth a visit.
