The hotel is based in a great location, just a few minutes walk from the waterfront in one direction and no more than 10 or so to the city centre in the other. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and all the mod-cons like TV, hot water and WiFi worked perfectly. The host, Olive, is absolutely lovely, gave some great advice on what to see and do nearby and the place overall has a warm and homely atmosphere. My partner and I would fully recommend this place for anybody visiting Plymouth and we'll definitely be booking again when we come back! Thanks very much Olive, and give Popeye our regards! 😉🙂

Great location near the Hoe—an easy walk to plenty of wonderful restaurants, bars, and the harbour. Wonderful host who was super friendly and extremely helpful; nothing was too much trouble for her. We loved having an open breakfast room with tea, coffee, and continental breakfast. The shared breakfast table was great for chatting with fellow guests. A fantastic place to stay at a very reasonable rate!

We were made very welcome and the guest house had a homely atmosphere. Excellent breakfast choices available. We were very grateful for the help we received with the parking arrangements.The position was ideal for us with just a short walk into the city centre and an easy stroll along the front.

My family of three recently stayed at the Mariner's Guest House, and we loved it (it was my partner and son's first time and my second time). Olive is lovely and the rooms/house are beautiful and very cozy. It's also excellently located, just a minute from the water and a short walk to the Barbican neighborhood. For visitors reaching Plymouth by ferry, it's also very well situated and took us about 15 minutes walking with a 5-year-old and our luggage (although taxis are an option - we just chose to walk). Definitely recommend, and I will certainly return.
