About Grovefield Manor
Poole's harbour and the Jurassic Coast beyond give this part of Dorset its appeal, and Grovefield Manor makes a comfortable base for exploring both. Set on Pinewood Road, the guest accommodation has just 10 rooms, each en-suite and kept spotlessly clean, with charming decor and a good supply of refreshments on hand.
Mornings bring a fresh continental breakfast, and there's a restaurant and bar on site for the rest of the day, along with free WiFi throughout. Outside, a garden offers a quiet spot to sit, while free on-site parking and luggage storage add convenience for guests arriving by car or staying only briefly. Laundry service is also available. Staff are generally friendly and welcoming, though a few visitors have noted inconsistent professionalism at times.
Beyond the grounds, Poole offers plenty of nearby pubs, restaurants and entertainment, making it easy to fill an evening without travelling far. With the harbour and coastline within reach, Grovefield Manor suits those who want a straightforward, well-kept place to return to after a day out.
What guests say
I had one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had staying here. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was appalling. The owner was incredibly rude, dismissive, and disrespectful throughout our stay. Instead of making guests feel welcome, he came across as grumpy and uninterested in addressing any concerns. The room itself was far below the standard you would expect from a hotel claiming to be 4 stars. There was visible mould and damp, which is completely unacceptable, especially from a hygiene perspective. There was also a thick build-up of dust behind the headboard, making it obvious that the room hadn't been cleaned properly for quite some time. To make matters worse, there wasn't even a fridge in the room, which is a basic amenity I'd expect at this level of accommodation. Overall, the cleanliness, poor facilities, and shockingly bad customer service made this an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone. I certainly won't be returning and would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable or welcoming stay. In my opinion, this hotel falls well short of the standards expected of a genuine 4-star property.

Chris the owner matches the house as in he is warm and friendly but you do have to accept his quirky character 😁 He's a lovely fella and doing what he's still doing I would love to be as fit as him in later years. Our room was great, the shower could do with a new Mira Boost shower (Chris I think this is a good investment) but it was acceptable. Unlike others we loved the breakfast, you can buy a full English anywhere but for me this was much more healthy. These gorgeous B&B's cost a fortune to run and soon they will be gone so do yourselves a favour and at least go for the experience of staying in one of these beautiful places. Also make sure you cross the road and visit the beach, it's just fantastic and only ten minutes walk away.

From the very warm welcome until my departure my stay at the Grovefield Manor was excellent. Chris, Jo and Olga were really friendly and helpful. My room was clean and quiet. Plenty of parking, wifi is strong. Breakfast is fresh (continental type). Lots of choice - I also had porridge. Will stop again when visiting Poole.

Whilst our room was spotless, sadly there was no fan in our room on the hottest day of the year thus far.We had to go for a walk at 10 o'clock at night as the room was unbearable.I asked if we could be provided with a fan and was told they were all in use but we would go to the top of the list when one becomes available??We were there for one night.I was also told the reason why they didn't have enough fans for all the guest's rooms was because they weren't expecting the heat wave and they were unable to purchase anymore. For a 4 star hotel in Poole which must experience hot temperatures during the Summer months I was quite taken back. Furthermore, on arrival at the hotel we were told that we should have contacted the hotel direct, rather than going through Expedia as we could have got the room cheaper.Firstly I didn't book the room through Expedia and when I enquired directly with the hotel about booking the room for a further night I was told I would have to pay the same price as I'd paid through the third party.Thank heavens the room wasn't available as we couldn't have stayed a second night in what was effectively a sauna.
