Hay-on-Wye lies five miles away—the riverside town famous for independent bookshops, galleries and a major literary festival. Brecon is eleven miles off, home to the Regimental Museum of the Royal Welsh, a theatre and cathedral, plus the summer jazz festival. The Brecon Beacons National Park surrounds the area, crossed by Offa's Dyke Path and the Wye Valley Walk, both offering serious walking through border country. Fishing, horse riding, cycle and canoe hire are all available locally. The Royal Welsh Showground at Builth Wells, fifteen miles away, hosts regular events.
Beacons Cottage is a detached house on ground-floor level throughout. The two bedrooms—one with a kingsize bed, one with two singles—each have their own ensuite shower room. The kitchen-dining area has everything needed for self-catering: electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer. A separate living room contains a TV and DVD player. The property includes wi-fi, bed linen, towels and heating. There is private parking for two cars and a front garden with patio and furniture.
No smoking indoors. The cottage sleeps four guests.
