The Apartment
Powys
Brecon sits at the gateway to the Beacons, with enough going on in town to keep you occupied—restaurants, shops, the Regimental Museum, a theatre, the cathedral—but also positioned to send you straight into walking country. The Apartment occupies the ground floor of a Georgian building minutes from the high street, where a pub and restaurant are 50 yards away and the shops are barely further.
The layout gives you three bedrooms (sleeping five), a shower room, and open-plan living and dining space with a 50-inch television and gas fire. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking: electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and all the rest. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are provided. Out back is an enclosed garden with patio furniture and a summerhouse. There's parking for one car on site. The property is no-smoking.
Whether you're here for the Beacons themselves—Pen Y Fan is roughly nine miles away—or to use Brecon as a base for cycling routes and canal walks, or to reach Hay-on-Wye (16 miles), the town's central location means Cardiff, Swansea, Abergavenny and Hereford are all within reach for day trips.
