About Borderers Guest House

Borderers Guest House occupies a 17th-century coach house on Watton in Brecon, and that history still shows in its character, from the courtyard at its heart to the unfussy, straightforward rooms it offers guests. This is an adults-only B&B rather than a polished hotel, with en-suite bathrooms, drinks in the room, and free Wi-Fi throughout, plus accessible rooms for those who need them.

Breakfast is included, and a packed lunch can be arranged for guests heading out for the day, while 24 hour reception means arrival times are flexible. Free on-site parking makes it an easy base for exploring on wheels, and a pub, bar and restaurant are all nearby for evening meals out.

Brecon's setting lends itself to an active stay, with walking and cycling country on the doorstep, along with golf, fishing, horse riding and watersports all within reach, plus entertainment for quieter evenings. Dare Valley Country Park is a notable point of interest close by, giving guests a straightforward outdoor option without straying far from Watton itself.

Our stay here was truly special! Gail went out of her way to welcome us and gave us great advice for enjoying Brecon. The bed was better than my bed at home and the breakfast was also fantastic. I got the recipe for her eggs! The location is super convenient: an easy walk to restaurants, shopping, Aldi, the cathedral and the castle. We enjoyed nature walks along the canal and the river.

It’s a simple homely B&B. The breakfast is great, the service is great, the cleanliness is great. Rooms are small but cosy. A lovely place to stay if you’d like comfy and uncomplicated accommodation.
