About Brook Cottage Shepherd Huts

These adults-only shepherd huts near Pwllheli strike a lovely balance between rustic charm and proper creature comforts. Each of the five cosy units – named after local Welsh women – comes with its own ensuite facilities, comfortable bed, and wood-burning stove that guests say makes winter stays particularly appealing. The peaceful hillside setting delivers those sweeping Llŷn Peninsula views that'll have you lingering over morning coffee, and the owners clearly know their patch, offering thoughtful local tips that send visitors to hidden beaches and the best pubs.

With year-round availability and dog-friendly options, it's a solid base for exploring Gwynedd's coastal walks and quieter corners. Just note there's no WiFi – though given how well-equipped and genuinely relaxing guests find the place, most seem perfectly happy with the digital detox.

We stayed here for 4 nights last week and had a lovely time. The setting is beautiful with lots of wildlife to watch and great views all around. The huts themselves are very well equipped and organised with everything you need for a cosy stay. A great base to explore North Wales and the hosts were very friendly and happy to help with anything. Would definitely recommend!

We had a fantastic stay at the Brook Cottage Shepard Huts - would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area. A few of the huts are dog friendly so it was great to stay with our dog and he loved it as much as we did. The hut has everything you need, and the beds are very comfy. Joss was amazing, she’s so welcoming and responsive it made everything very easy. Also recommend the location, there’s lots to things to do in the local area. We’ll definitely be back!

Lovely secluded location - wonderful to wake up to birdsong - the shepherds huts overlook a small wildlife lake, with great views to the Rivals hills. Luxurious huts, with everything you need for a cosy stay - the bed was really comfortable, and the shower was great. Amazingly well designed - everything you need in such a small space! It was really nice to have a firepit for the warmer evenings, but also a log burner if it got chilly. Joss and Steve were on hand if we needed anything, but not intrusive in any way. We felt very welcome, and it was a nice touch to have milk and Welsh Cakes, on arrival, and a bag of fruit for the journey home - thank you. Ideal place to chill - no Wi-Fi, or TV means you totally relax - the mobile signal and 4G is fine though, if you really need to get online. Thoroughly recommend Brook Cottage Shepherds Huts .
