About Parkside International Hotel
Rooms at Parkside International Hotel are kept simple and unfussy: modern furnishings, drinks available in-room, and the practical extras that make a stay easy rather than showy. With 73 rooms in total, it suits both a one-night business stop and a longer leisure break, and a lift serves all floors for guests who'd rather skip the stairs.
Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar for evening meals, plus a brasserie for something more casual, and breakfast is included in the stay. The hotel also has meeting rooms and business services for those travelling for work, along with concierge services, luggage storage and a garden for a quieter moment outdoors. Free on-site parking is a genuine plus in a town centre location, and childcare is available for families who need it. It's also set up as a wedding venue for those planning an event.
Positioned on Bath Road in Reading, Berkshire, the hotel is within reach of Reading Abbey and the Thames Path, making it a reasonable base for exploring the town on foot. It's a straightforward, functional choice rather than a luxury one, with the basics - parking, breakfast, and a comfortable bed - covered well.
What guests say
Can't argue with the price. Only £55 per night and no charge for dog and free parking. Seems popular with contractors. Decent size room, en-suite and TV. Had a strange experience with a resident banging loudly on our door in the middle of the night claiming we were using power tools in our room. We were in bed asleep at the time, so I'm not sure what loopy juice he had been on. Hotel reception weren't interested when I called down. Hence a loss of a star. But, as I say, at £55 per night it still offers very good value for money. Not sure if I'd stay there again though. Somehow the surrounding area didn't feel 100% safe, but can't quite put my finger on it. A few strange characters about outside.

One of those old-style charming places where they’re super polite, super competent. Like Travelodge but with charisma and in most rooms, TVs with state-of-the-art entertainment, we’re talking Disney+, Netflix etc., or anything via Airplay 👏 Special thanks to Sashi, Kopila, Elly, Parikshya, Sofia, Amrit & Ruby 💎

Decided to visit friends in Reading and were looking for the place to sleep and have a shower. The room was generally OK, clean, practical but the bathroom...the ceiling black from mould, when switched on the fan in there, it sounded like some sort of heavy machinery. Think someone should look at it? All staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, but not remarkable, I would appreciate maybe fruit bowl with fresh fruit to take? Also I noticed one of mornings staff lady smelled really bad after cigarettes smoke, mean really bad ... The location of hotel is perfect and if not too picky , you get yourself a room for a fair price.

When we arrived the beds weren't made, there was a tray of half eaten breakfast and towels on the bathroom floor. I reported this and the lady on reception was very apologetic and move us to another room. The rooms could do with a good lick of paint. Had a good nights sleep. Staff very helpful.
