About Premier Inn Reading Central

With 151 rooms spread across six floors, Premier Inn Reading Central is built for volume without losing consistency, and that shows in the reliably clean rooms guests find on arrival. Each comes with an en-suite bathroom and drinks facilities, and accessible rooms are available, with a lift serving all floors.

Breakfast is a strong point, with a wide buffet selection served each morning, and the on-site restaurant covers other meals without needing to leave the building. Staff are generally friendly and attentive, though a handful of visits have found service less helpful than expected. Chargeable parking is available on-site, allocated first-come first-served, with further paid parking nearby at The Oracle - Riverside if the hotel car park is full.

The central Reading location is the other main draw, putting guests within easy reach of pubs, bars and entertainment, with golf, fishing and horse riding all listed as nearby activities for those wanting to get further afield. An electric vehicle charge point and 24-hour reception round out the practical side of a stay here.

Just a short walk to the centre of Reading town this Premier Inn is perfectly located if shops, bars, restaurants and access to the train station is required. We stayed whilst attending Ascot and found it's vicinity to the station ideal. 10 min walk and then a 25 min train journey to Ascot station. Clean and well presented, the hotel offers all the usual bits and bobs - bar and restaurant for all 3 main meals of the day, 24 hour reception, comfortable rooms and onsite parking (albeit at an additional cost). The staff were friendly and attentive and given the price you always feel you get value for money. Would recommend 👌

I recently stayed at this hotel and was let down by a manager who showed a lack of professionalism in the way that she dealt with a situation. I reported to her that the air conditioning in my room appeared to be fault as, despite providing the functionality to increase or decrease temperature, mine was stuck of 19. It would neither go up nor down. This woman told me that it was not faulty and that it was centrally controlled by the hotel, which ensured that guests cannot make their rooms cooler or warmer. She then told me that she could make an adjustment to allow me to raise the thermostat, which I repeated numerous times that I didn’t want. That I wanted it to be cooler. Failing to actually listen to what I was saying, she went out the back to make those adjustment. She then told me that no Premier Inns in the UK had air conditioning that went below 19, which I believe is incorrect. She then went on to say that the air conditioning would turn off at 23:00 every night in order to “save the planet”! This, despite being a paying customer who had booked for a hotel advertised as having air conditioning. She claimed all Premier Inns do this. This is not true (I’ve checked). Later, when I enquired about a fan, she changed her story and said that she had earlier said that customers can switch it back on after 23:00. This was a lie as she had not said this earlier (I recorded the conversation on my phone). Her overall persona was very odd. She came across as lacking empathy and sincerity. I don’t appreciate staff lying to paying customers to cover their own backs, and treating them like they’re an annoyance. This member of staff needed proper training.

Absolutely lovely stay. Great location in town centre. Wonderful staff, who polite and courteous during my stay. Good breakfast selection and worth paying for. Room was kept spotless but could do with a bit of TLC. However this did not spoil my stay.

Nice hotel and exceptionally comfortable bed! The breakfast was below normal premier Inn standard however. Bacon is very greasy and lots of black bits on it, tasted odd. No fried eggs and scrambled eggs were over cooked and drying out. Mushroom just odd. Staff however really friendly particularly the lady on reception.
