About Premier Inn Reading South Reading Gateway M4-J11
Reading Gateway sits right by the M4's Junction 11, a spot built for easy motorway access rather than scenery, which makes Premier Inn Reading South a practical base for anyone travelling in or out of Reading by car. The surrounding business parks and the town centre are both within easy reach, making this as useful for meetings as it is for an overnight stop.
The hotel has 120 rooms spread across six floors, each with air conditioning and an en-suite bathroom, along with free WiFi and drinks available in room. There's a lift for easy access, and accessible rooms are available alongside eight blue badge parking bays close to reception. A restaurant and bar on-site cover breakfast and evening meals, and there's a gym for guests keen to keep up a routine while away.
Free on-site parking and an electric vehicle charge point suit those arriving by car, and nearby pubs, restaurants and entertainment options give plenty of choice beyond the hotel itself, with a golf course also close by. Staff are consistently described as friendly and willing to help, though service at busier times can be on the slower side.
What guests say
Disappointed to arrive into my room, that hadn’t been cleaned. Clearly missed off/forgotten about - I reported this to reception and they offered me another room and free breakfast. Whilst I appreciate the offer, I wasn’t comfortable staying in a hotel that firstly, the housekeeper missed the room, but secondly, the supervisor didn’t check the room.

Would never stay here by choice, but work always books this fine establishment when they send us on training. I wish they didn’t.. I am not expecting a lot, but by far the worst Premier Inn I have ever stayed in. I don’t know if it’s the lack of staff, but the service is just atrocious. Come down for breakfast at 7:30, breakfast buffet is basically empty. Wait 1.5 hours for two courses at dinner. You need to “book” a table for dinner at a Premier Inn. This is not a 5-star restaurant we are talking about. The rooms are pretty dated as well. I guess at least the air conditioning works.

The room was fine, and the hotel was quiet. However, the restaurant really let the place down, service was terrible despite there only being about 10 customers and seemingly 4 members of staff. My order was taken eventually and about 20 minutes later I then had to ask again for my drink. When my food hadn't arrived after 45 minutes (which seemed to be the standard waiting time) I asked and was told my order has been lost. I was in a bit of a hurry so gave up and went to one of the other restaurants on the complex. Breakfast was marginally better, although everything was empty/cold when I arrived at about 9. Some of it was refilled while I was there, some of it wasn't. Ok to sleep at, but eat somewhere else.

We had a lovely stay thanks to two rays of sunshine, Sara and Jo. They were just so pleasant to speak with and they took extra care of us and our little ones. So sweet and loving. Had to come and write a nice review just for them. Thank you for the nice stay!
