What visitors say

Joao Lampreia

I visited Brockholes on a warm afternoon and it was exactly what I needed. I really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, the beautiful views across the water, and the chance to slow down and simply enjoy nature for a few hours. The visitor centre is unique and blends perfectly into the landscape, and the walking trails are well maintained and easy to follow. One of the things I liked most was how calm everything felt. Even with other visitors around, there was plenty of space to relax, watch the wildlife and listen to the sounds of nature. A lovely place to escape the daily routine and recharge. I’ll definitely be returning.

A lovely one day visit to Brockholes Nature Reserve for a catered event. The venue is absolutely beautiful, with everything set in a peaceful natural setting that makes the whole experience feel calm and refreshing. There’s something special about being surrounded by nature while also learning and enjoying a well organised event. The atmosphere was very peaceful, with plenty of opportunities to see birds and wildlife up close, which added to the experience. The facilities were good, parking was easy, and everything felt well thought out and accessible. Overall, a really enjoyable and relaxing day in a stunning natural environment.

Repurposed quarry with large wetlands areas and a novel conservation centre giving more info. Cafe and small shop also on site. Several posted walks with reasonable surfacing that circle the site offering varying distances to suit. Hides and observation points dotted around. No dogs allowed.

Parking £6 ! OK all day but not a place to visit just to have lunch. Excellent layout. Lakes and country paths to walk. Though need to improve signage. A great Children's play park too. Cafe was over priced! Service unnecessarily slow. (15 - 20min wait for items they could have given you at the till poor management.
