About Elmsdale Camping
Tucked into the Wye Valley near Symonds Yat and Ross-on-Wye, this family-run site occupies a peaceful camping meadow on the banks of Garron Brook. Kids make a beeline for the rope swing over the shallow water, and there's ample space to kick a ball around while parents soak up the forest scenery. A bridle path leads straight from the field to Marstow and Goodrich villages – perfect for dog walks (just keep an eye on your four-legged friends around the resident hens).
Facilities earn consistent praise for being spotless and well-maintained, with hot showers, communal fridges and freezer space for ice packs. Fresh eggs are usually available, and you can hire chimeneas on site or bring your own wood-burning stove. The atmosphere leans toward tranquil rather than lively – there's a 10pm curfew to keep things quiet for fellow campers – and walkable pubs or nearby cafés save you from camp cooking every night. A red phone box doubles as a book-swap library, adding a characterful touch to this welcoming Herefordshire base.

What visitors say
Great little campsite, beautiful setting surrounded by stream. Very quiet and relaxed. Only few showers and toilets so expected there to be queues but I always was able to get straight in. I am an early riser mind! Facilities were kept clean. Showers always had hot water. Washing area one evening had no hot water. Not worth losing a star over as may have been a one off.

Lovely site, well kept clean facilities and dog / family friendly. Karen was very helpful and accommodating. We hired a chimnea and gots lots of wood too. Walk to pub wasn't too far either...bonus. Would stay again.

We're came from London very late about 9pm. Owners helped us and found space for our sprinter campervan. Absolutely helpful, friendly people. Decent price, clean and spotless toilets. Quiet, peaceful place, kids and dog friendly. Very high recommended. I'm sure we'll back there in future
