Quince Cottage is a single bedroom converted from an old farm building on Lower Marley Farm, set within 14 acres of working farmland near Battle. Arriving downstairs, you enter an open-plan living space with a woodburner, dining area and kitchen where you can cook proper meals. The wet room is also on this level. Upstairs, a galleried bedroom holds a zip-and-link bed that can be separated into two singles. One well-behaved dog stays free, though they need to be kept on a lead when in the fields.
The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi—are all included. Parking is available for two cars on site. You have use of a shared garden with furniture and a barbecue, plus bike storage. A small washing machine sits in an external building. The location puts you within reach of the 1066 battlefield and abbey at Battle itself, and a 10-minute walk across the fields brings you to Sedlescombe village with its pub. Hastings, Rye and Bodiam Castle are all nearby. The Kent and East Sussex Steam Railway runs from Tenterden through the Rother Levels. There is an unfenced ornamental pond three yards from the cottage.

Warm welcome from Andrew who showed us round before going to quince cottage for our stay for the week, we were so lucky with the weather. Looked out onto field of sheep and lambs each morning, even saw fox running across field, the cottage was warm and cosy, though concern with bedroom on mezzanine floor in the eaves, unable to stand up round bed, bed was soft and had no problems sleeping. Handy location for getting about, many NT and EH properties within short distance. Lovely woods locally for taking dog out. We have an electric car and there are fast charge points locally in Hastings which we found useful.

Compact accommodation for 2, but very cosy and everything we required. Perfect location, peaceful with countryside walks direct on the doorstep.

Lovely couple who own the place. Immaculately presented and clean. Welcomed with home made biscuits and freshly laid eggs from their chickens. Very comfortable and well equipped. Lovely grounds and convenient location. Highly recommend
