Winchelsea sits in countryside that rolls down to woodland and lakes, with the Sussex coast within easy reach. Stable Cottage is a converted detached building set among that landscape, with beamed ceilings and an open-plan ground floor that brings together the living space, dining area and kitchen. Upstairs is a single bedroom with a super king bed. There's a shower room, wood-burning stove for winter evenings, and a private enclosed garden for dining outside in warmer months. The essentials—heating, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels—are covered; the kitchen has an electric oven, hob and microwave for cooking. One dog is welcome.
The location works for exploring the area on foot: the 1066 route passes nearby and extends all the way to Battle, and there are footpaths through the surrounding green. Winchelsea Beach is about ten minutes' drive away; the historic town of Rye is slightly further. Fishing is possible on one of the owner's lakes. A pub sits within a mile. The property has on-site parking and accepts two people. Note that the stairs between floors are open, steep and narrow.
