What visitors say
Oh my goodness!!some of the largest, most perfect specimens I’ve ever seen! This is a well planned out exhibition with fun things for kids. Absolutely a must do for anyone who has even a slight interest in rocks & minerals. Geologists - the only collection we’ve seen that surpassed this one is at the Colorado School of Mines.

Its an ok place to check out and stretch your legs, but its overpriced. Theres a big car park but no disabled spaces, i also didnt see any signs for the 50% off admission price for wheelchair users. I have mobility issues and didnt go up the stairs so paid full price as we didnt know. The museum itself feels a bit outdated, its dark and has nature sounds being played on a cd player loud. The displays are nice and i enjoyed the writings about geology. The gift shop is overpriced, we did buy some crystals as souvenirs but it felt like a bit of a tourist trap. The staff seemed knowledgable and polite though.

We visited on a rainy day, and really enjoyed our visit. We love rocks and gems and fossils and there were some great exhibits. We enjoyed the trial and the shop at the end was great too. Staff were very friendly too.

Not quite what I expected, rather quirky building and quite dated compared to other museums. Fascinating information inside about various gemstones, fossils etc and creative displays, huge scale artwork throughout on the walls. But I do wonder how this museum survives as we were the only visitors there during our visit. Also confused initially as the sign outside the entrance says open 1am - 1pm...we visited at 3:30pm and it was open but those opening times make no sense...
