About Milford Hall Hotel & Spa

Milford Hall Hotel & Spa occupies a Georgian house on Milford Street, close enough to the city centre to walk to the cathedral in ten minutes yet set back in its own gardens on the banks of the River Bourne. The original building has been extended over the years to add a spa wing, indoor pool and a modern block of bedrooms, while keeping the period rooms in the older part of the house for anyone who wants more character.

Bedrooms range from compact doubles to larger rooms overlooking the garden, and the restaurant serves a seasonal menu drawing on Wiltshire produce. The spa, with its pool, sauna and treatment rooms, is unusual for a hotel this central and makes it a popular choice for a short break as much as for business visitors passing through.

Free parking on site is a real advantage in a city where street parking is limited, and the hotel's position just outside the old city walls means it is quieter at night than hotels directly on the Market Place, while still being an easy walk from the Close.

I had a good stay here. Staff very friendly on reception and at breakfast. The room was clean and the bathroom was modern. It was great to have some decent quality pillows. I read the reviews about how the walls are like paper and you can hear everything. I was lucky and had quiet neighbours but I suspect from what I did hear it may be a problem if other guests aren’t as mindful about noise levels.

Great hotel. Perfect location, just a short walk into the city centre. Fair price on overnight parking. Rooms very nice with a big comfortable bed. Just one suggestion, an extra pillow or two would be good. Lovely breakfast with very friendly staff. Sophia went out of her way to sort some balloons for our room for my husband birthday. Thank you for a lovely stay.

I am not sure what demographic this hotel is aimed at. It is pitched as a luxury hotel but felt in some respects a bit like a business hotel. Nice rooms with a/c, but no a/c in public areas. It has a restaurant with well prepared food, but the choice of food is not what you would expect from a luxury hotel and the restaurant has no a/c . A lot of money has obviously been spent but why penny pinch on the restaurant? The breakfast was poor, I thought, about the same as you would get in a business hotel. Self service tea and coffee and very limited choice of fruit. Pre -cooked breakfast laid out in warmers! Nice helpful staff but obviously struggling with penny pinching management. Won't be back , in fact don't think much of IHG hotels in general.Much prefer independent, family run places.

Excellent hotel conveniently located to the city centre. All the staff were friendly and helpful. It was our wedding anniversary and the room had been decorated with towel sculptures and petals a lovely touch thank you. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. The room was spacious comfy and clean. Only minor gripe the floorboards in the room above were very squeaky. The restaurant food was delicious well presented and cooked perfectly. Both the guys serving were brilliant sorry can't remember the names. Breakfast was fresh and a good selection again the service was excellent. Another minor point £10 a night parking is a bit steep if your staying there. can understand people may park and walk to the city centre if it was free. Will definitely return may look at Christmas. Thank you everyone at Milford Hall.
