About The Victoria Hotel Est 1895 by Historic Hotels

Breakfast is included at The Victoria Hotel Est 1895 by Historic Hotels, and there's a restaurant and bar on site for meals and drinks without needing to venture out, along with a games room for quieter evenings. It's a straightforward, welcoming setup rather than a grand one, but it covers the basics well for a stay on the Yorkshire coast.

The 16 rooms are decorated with a colourful, individual touch, and some look out over the sea towards South Bay. All come with en-suite bathrooms, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. Practical extras include a lift, 24 hour reception, room service, laundry service and luggage storage, useful if you're arriving early or leaving late. The hotel also hosts weddings and has meeting rooms for those combining business with a coastal break.

Westborough puts the hotel within walking distance of Scarborough's shops, pubs and restaurants, with the South Bay beach close by. The surrounding area is well suited to cycling and walking, and fishing and watersports can be arranged nearby for a more active day out. Parking is available on site for those arriving by car.

Great location situated opposite the train station. On arrival the building came across as a little run down. The lift was out of service and having my 75 year old mother with me this wasn't the best situation. The young lad on reception was helpful and gave us some good pointers for breakfast. The room itself was comfortable however, considering how cold it was, the heaters in the room didn't compensate for this. Overall, the hotel offers good value for money and room was clean which we couldn't fault. If anything, just a little outdated and 'tired'.

It's opposite the train station. We literally walked out of the station, crossed the road and we were stood outside the hotel. The staff were very friendly and super helpful. I'm guessing we were upgraded as we booked a double but the room had a double bed and two singles. It was very clean. The only problem was the bathroom. The first night the shower worked fine apart from taking quite a while to get the water temp right. The second night, I had a shower and about half an hour after, when my wife wanted one, there was no hot water. We waited another hour, but still no hot water. She had one the next morning but there still wasn't any hot water, just a small amount of barely warm water. We left it 24 hours until the next morning and there was hot water again. There was mould and peeling/cracked paintwork high up on the wall at far end of the bathroom. There is a switch for an extractor fan outside the bathroom high up on the wall. I'm 6 feet and could just reach it, I imagine a lot of people can't hence the mould.

We had an overnight stay in the Victoria Hotel which has an air of faded gentility about it. We were attending a show at the SJT Theatre which is virtually next door so for us the location was superb. There was no breakfast available but no worries I can recommend The Rendezvous cafe just a few doors away across the road from the theatre or if you prefer the Wetherspoons establishment is also a few doors further down from the Rendezvous with their offer of breakfast fare. The bed at the Victoria was large, comfy and the room very spacious. We thought it was very good value and had a nice stay. 😊

Was ment to have a nice view from room and ended up with the car park. No toilet roll in the room when we booked in so had to ask for some. Room was lovely and clean with a huge tv. Bar staff was lovely and very welcoming. Love the 10% off for been a guest.
