Leaderfoot Cottage

Leaderfoot Cottage is a period property that combines traditional character with modern comfort. The ground floor centres on a living and dining area warmed by a wood-burning stove, with a fully equipped kitchen alongside. A bathroom with a freestanding bath and shower completes this level. Upstairs, two spacious bedrooms each have a king-size bed, providing room to spread out after days exploring the Borders.

The cottage comes with essentials covered: electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included. There is private parking for two cars on site, and one dog is welcome free of charge. The kitchen is set up for cooking proper meals rather than making do with basics—it has an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and microwave. A travel cot and highchair are available if needed.

Melrose itself is a short drive away, with independent shops, cafés and restaurants, plus regular events including the Borders Book Festival. The Leaderfoot Viaduct lies nearby, and the rolling countryside around the cottage offers walking and cycling routes throughout the year. No smoking inside the property.
