Rural Cabins - Pinecone Cabin
Scottish Borders
Photo: Google Maps
The Scottish Borders countryside around Peebles rolls out in open hills and wide skies—the kind of landscape that makes you want to slow down. Pinecone Cabin sits on a working farm within this quieter landscape, a shepherd's cabin designed for guests who actually want to disconnect. There is no Wi-Fi here, which is the point. The cabin is yours alone, entirely on the ground floor with a super king bed (which can be split into two singles), a living room with TV and DVDs, and a walk-in shower.
The kitchen comes with a microwave, fridge and air fryer, but the slow cooker is the real star—you can set a meal going in the morning and return to something ready after a day outside. Electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. A single parking space sits on site. Access is via four steps to the entrance. The cabin suits couples, friends travelling together, or anyone after genuine quiet; smoking is not permitted.
Peebles itself is close by, a small town with independent shops and places to eat, while the surrounding farmland offers walking routes of varying difficulty. The location sits between accessibility and real seclusion—you're not far from amenities, but the working farm setting keeps things properly rural.
