Cartref Camping and Caravan Site

Returned to Cartref after a 2 year gap since previous visit. Being adults only is a huge plus for me. Just as welcoming this trip as I remember it being last time here although different staff members this trip but equally as helpful and friendly. It has one shower/toilet block which is very clean. The showers have been upgraded since my last visit, now unlimited hot water without having to continuously press the timer button mounted on the pipework, much better! Nice cozy bar and NOT overpriced drinks either.it is open to locals as well as residents on the site The site is not enormous, all pitches are fully serviced. I found mobile coverage on my network (O2) to be unreliable and weak on my pitch but it was better in the bar/reception area. Unfortunately the on-site Wi-Fi was not good on our pitch but it was okay in the bar. This is the only negative I can comment on. The phone signal clearly not the responsibility of the site but an upgrade to the site Wi-Fi would definitely help and enable me to give 5 stars. All in all had a great 2 week visit and will return and can recommend anyone looking for a lovely adult only, dog friendly location close to Shrewsbury to seriously consider Cartref.

Brilliant site, tucked away so virtually no road noise, close to Ironbridge for all the historic sites that are on offer. Also about a 30 minute drive over the border into Wales with some great attractions near by. You can drive into Shrewsbury if you want but we used the park and ride which is about a 10 minute drive from the site and at £2/person, is cheaper than paying for parking in Shrewsbury. They have a great on site bar and food is available some nights, we had a pizza on our last night from there and it was lovely. Pitches are a good size and all fully serviced, wash room facilities were good and everyone is really friendly. No hesitation in recommending

Great adult only site not far from Shrewsbury. Nice toilets and showers, cleaned daily and heated. Good waste collection area, water, bins etc. Pitches were a good size with own electricity and water supply. Well manicured hedges and verges. Nice on site pub/ restaurant, food cooked fresh. Small shop on site. Friendly staff. Extra charge for electricity over daily allocation but in the 3 nights we stayed, the extra charge was 70p. 11pm curfew for excess noise, shame that patrons didn't extend that past 6.45am and 6.55pm two mornings running!!! Will visit again.

We had a fantastic stay at Cartref Campsite and would highly recommend it. We stayed in our TentBox, and the grounds were absolutely immaculate—beautifully maintained, clean, and well cared for throughout our visit. One of the highlights of our stay was how welcoming everyone was, especially towards our dog, Roxie. She doesn’t usually get much fuss where we’re from, so it was lovely to see how friendly and attentive everyone was with her. A special mention has to go to Rachel, who was incredibly kind and helpful from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble, she happily answered any questions we had, and her friendly, warm personality really made our stay even more enjoyable. The combination of the stunning campsite, excellent facilities, and genuinely caring staff made for a wonderful experience. We will definitely be returning in the future.
