Oxon Hall Touring Park

Little Oxon Ln, Welshpool Rd, Bicton Heath, Shrewsbury SY3 5FB, UK

A well-run touring park two miles west of Shrewsbury town centre

About Oxon Hall Touring Park

Oxon Hall Touring Park sits just off the Welsh border road out of Shrewsbury, close enough that the town's medieval streets and castle are a short bus ride or cycle away, yet quiet and rural once you are through the gate. The park is laid out with generous, level, hedge-lined pitches for caravans and motorhomes alongside a separate area for tents, giving a reasonable sense of privacy between neighbours even when the site is busy over summer weekends.

Facilities are geared towards touring visitors staying several nights while exploring both the town and the wider Shropshire countryside: modern shower and toilet blocks, hookups on the touring pitches, and a small shop and reception selling essentials and local information. The park's position close to the A5 makes it a practical stopover for those touring further into Wales as well as a base purely for Shrewsbury itself, and the on-site facilities are kept in good order year-round rather than just through peak season.

Dogs are welcome on leads, and the flat, well-drained pitches suit both families with younger children and couples looking for a straightforward, no-fuss base. Its proximity to the town means an evening meal or a look around the castle grounds is easily managed without needing the car again once you have arrived.

First visit to a Morris Leisure site and not disappointed. Fantastic experience from the time we checked in to when we departed. Immaculate site and the best we’ve stayed at in our travels to date. We originally booked 1 night but wanted to extend this to 2 on our arrival. The site was fully booked but the reception team had made a note and managed to book us onto a pitch when they received a last minute cancellation. The location is also fantastic with a short walk to local Co-op, Pub and Take Aways. The park and ride into Shrewsbury town centre is also next door and provided us with a regular link into the town. Brilliant all round and can’t wait to go back.

Oxon Hall is in a very convenient location for Shrewsbury with friendly staff and an excellent accessories shop on site. The drive up to the barrier is immaculate and impressive, giving a great first impression. However, this site wasn't our cup of tea, it's very busy and lacks atmosphere. Our pitch was supposedly a super pitch but it felt cramped. Looking around the site there are some decent pitches, especially in the adult area and one or two nice grass pitches around too. Now onto the facilities: bins and recycling are well located however there is only one toilet and washroom area for the whole site, which you need a key to access. They are cleaned once a day between 11 and 12:15ish. I don't think this is enough for a site of this size and if you go late in the evening or first thing in the morning they are not clean. In my opinion this needs tweaking, especially during the busy season. If you do plan to stay here, I would definitely look at the map and pick a suitable pitch.

Fantastic site, wonderful staff and amenities with immaculate cleanliness. Gardens kept to a great standard and nothing is to much trouble to make your stay memorable. Short stroll to park and ride with well stocked shop and take-aways next door. Very peaceful with wild life living alongside. Highly recommend.

This is a fantastic place, well located not far from Shrewsbury this welcoming site is well kept, tidy, and fairly quiet. Staff are lovely, helpful, and attentive when you arrive and the pitches are generously sized and spaced. The toilet and washing facilities are also clean and tidy and the showers are very good, the site has a well stocked shop and if you need anything more there's a Co-op just in the main road outside (as well as a chip shop and Chinese takeaway) A big plus is the nature here, the birdsong, the ducks, squirrels, and the many rabbits! Another 'feather in the cap' is that there's a Park & Ride nearby that is easily accessible via just a short walk out of the main gates and through a smaller gate off the road. This gets you into Shrewsbury town for only £2 return which is fantastic! Would definitely stay here again 💚
