High Bank

Pontesbury sits amid Shropshire's rolling countryside, eight miles southwest of Shrewsbury town centre. The village itself is a starting point for public footpaths and walking trails that crisscross the surrounding hills and farmland. Pontesford Hill and Earl's Hill dominate the skyline, and the network of routes means you can plan anything from an afternoon stroll to a full day's exploration without leaving the area.
High Bank is a ground-floor cottage that sleeps four across two bedrooms—one with a kingsize bed and ensuite shower, the other with two single beds and a bath with shower over. An open-plan living space combines a sitting area with a log burner, a dining zone, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking: electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, and coffee machine among the essentials. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and underfloor heating are included. There's a lawned garden with patio and terrace, barbecue and seating, plus parking for two cars on site.
The cottage allows one pet to stay at no extra cost, and comes with a welcome pack and dog extras. A highchair is available if needed. No smoking inside. Arrival is after 3pm, departure before 10am.

What guests say
Cosy and really thoughtfully laid out for visitors and dogs. Really nice to see the 'local' touches too such as maps, books and illustrations. Very relaxing holiday. Recommended.

We were visiting family in July & stayed at High Bank. What a lucky find ! A beautiful well appointed cottage, lovely garden/outdoor area & a good location. The hosts Emma & Greg are friendly & helpful & High Bank is full of special touches. The welcome goodies were delicious & generous. Peace, comfort, wonderful views - it certainly ticked all our boxes. We look forward to booking again.
