Lavender Cottage

Shropshire

View on Google Maps

Three miles from Shrewsbury, this rural village location puts you within easy reach of the town's shops and restaurants while keeping the feel of open countryside. Lavender Cottage is a traditional stone build with enough space for two people who want their own self-contained base—you have the whole property to yourself, including a private parking space and an enclosed front garden with seating.

Inside, downstairs consists of a living and dining area with a TV and electric fire, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking: electric oven, hob, microwave, air fryer, dishwasher and the usual fridges and freezers. There's also a utility room for boots and coats. Upstairs is one bedroom with a king-size bed and original beams, and a shower room. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. The cottage welcomes one pet free of charge, and comes with games, a welcome pack, and dog extras if needed.

The garden has a sitting area where you can take the air; there's enough of it to feel private without feeling remote. Ground-floor access from the porch does involve two small steps. No smoking inside.

We're staying here for February half-term. We struck gold when we found this cottage. It has exceeded expectations in every way. It's warm, comfortable, well equipped and decorated, a beautiful quiet location with Shrewsbury just a 10 minute car journey. It is also super dog friendly so our Golden Retriever Gus is very happy too. Owners, Kevin and Sally, couldn't be more welcoming or flexible. The only problem is that a week isn't long enough! Would definitely recommend.
