The Ship Inn House

Bridgnorth's riverside setting makes for a compelling base. The Engine House Visitor & Education Centre is nearby for rainy days, and the town itself sits on the Severn with plenty of walking potential. The Ship Inn House gives you a room within a working pub, which means food and drink are steps away—the kitchen does a carvery with proper portions, and prices are straightforward.

You get one bedroom sleeping four (there's a king bed and two fold-out chairs), plus your own bathroom and kitchenette. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included. The pub's own atmosphere—friendly staff, busy at mealtimes—is part of staying here rather than something separate. The location is rural enough to feel removed, but you're in town rather than stranded. No smoking throughout.

We went for a family meal on a Sunday for lunch we all had a carvery the meats were nice with a large portion and a large selection of veg. One of the best weve been too and a great price.

The ship inn offers great value for money and welcoming atmosphere. We had the hunters chicken and can quite honestly say it's the best I've ever tasted. Ideal location

Great pub down by the river. Close to the Severn Valley railway Station and museum witch is free to visit. Food at the ship is very good not too expensive good choices of beer. Definitely recommend will be going back soon

Our 2nd time staying here. Lovely accommodation overlooking the River Severn with the Severn Valley Railway passing just behind at Highley Station. The food is excellent with a varied menu. Nice walks along the river.
