About The Kings Head

Tucked in the quiet village of Addlethorpe, just west of Ingoldmells, The Kings Head pairs a small adults-only campsite with a well-loved family-run pub. Campers consistently rave about the hearty, home-cooked food – steak pie and Sunday roasts earn special mentions – and the friendly, attentive service that keeps the place buzzing even when it's busy. The cosy, traditional atmosphere welcomes dogs, and there's a decent range of beers and wines to accompany those generous portions.

Fully-serviced hardstanding pitches mean you can settle in properly, and the shower block has been smartly refurbished with heating installed, so mornings start hot whatever the weather. It's a five-minute drive to Ingoldmells' amusements and less than five miles to Skegness beach, putting you within easy reach of Lincolnshire's coast without the seaside bustle on your doorstep. The pub can feel traditional in the cosiest sense – expect character rather than contemporary polish – but for those seeking a peaceful, grown-up base with proper pub food and a warm welcome, it delivers.

Had the best meal ive had in a very long time. The food was outstanding. The steaks were cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was so calming and warm. Felt so comfortable. Staff were very friendly and dogs were welcome. Can not fault anything at all. Thank you so much.

This pub was a huge disappointment. The first sign was where the beer was served in a dirty glasses. On tasting the beer there was the metallic taste of dirty pipes. You can see how this place recently dropped from a 5 star to a 1 star food hygeine rating. Unfortunately we had already ordered food and so there was still room for further disappointment. The best thing was the pie that looked like it was made elsewhere. Everything else looked like it was from frozen, overcooked and bland. Staff seemed completely disinterested in us while we were there.

Popped in for a spot of lunch and we're delighted by what we found, loved the location. The atmosphere was good even though it wasn't overly busy and we didn't have to wait long before the food arrived. It was only scampi and chips but both of us remarked how good it was and how the portion size was just right. We'd read good things about The King's Head and weren't disappointed. We'll definitely be back to try the Sunday lunch sometime soon.
