Butterburr Lodge is a two-bedroom property on the Lakeview resort near Wellington, with everything on one level. You walk into an open-plan living space that combines the lounge, kitchen and dining area—a single room with patio doors opening onto a private patio with picnic bench. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge, plus a washing machine. One bedroom contains a king-size bed; the other has two single beds. There is one bathroom with a bath and shower.
Bed linen, towels and wifi are provided, along with heating and electricity. The resort has shared gardens with a gazebo and children's play area, and fishing is available on-site if you hold a rod licence. You get private parking for one car, with additional spaces available elsewhere on the resort. The property is no-smoking. Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm is nearby if you're visiting in the festive season, and the rural Somerset setting suits families or groups wanting a quiet base in the countryside.

We have stayed at Birch Lodge a couple of times now and it's fast becoming a family favourite holiday. Clare and Nick have worked hard and put a lot of love into making the cabin a home away from home with everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. I think Somerset is sometimes an underrated county, with people often passing through on their way to Devon or Cornwall but we love the area: the dramatic Exmoor national park is nearby as well as unspoilt beaches, with fascinating fossils and rock formations aplenty. Locally, there are great walks too and delightful spots for lunch which don't require you venturing out too far. We don't really feel the need to do much though as we love the fishing at Birch Lodge and find it so relaxing and peaceful to be in and around the lodge. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here and plan to return again.

An immaculate, well equipped lodge with every comfort you could wish for, as well as the host's extra welcome treats on arrival. The decor and furnishings are all carefully chosen to fit with the Lodge. Wonderful dog walks around the Christmas tree farm, lakes, orchard and woodland. The fishing lakes are well stocked with healthy carp, bream, rudd and roach. There is barely a need to go off site, just relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the surroundings. It is definitely a relaxing haven!

Recently returned from a wonderful few days 'fishing break' at Birch Lodge. The lodge itself is immaculate, very well appointed and superbly equipped. The location is just stunning and so peaceful. The fishing was excellent and fish were caught in all but one of the four available lakes. The variety of species caught was a delight - not only carp, but rudd, roach, bream, tench and perch also made an appearance. The immaculate condition of all the fish caught is worthy of comment. To have the whole place to ourselves was fantastic. The host, Nick, was charming, friendly and very helpful. Already making plans to return.
