Great Yarmouth and the Norfolk coast are within reach, but Swallowtail Cottage sits on the quieter side of the border in Somerset, part of a small holiday complex near the village of Huntworth. The cottage itself is a three-bedroom property sleeping six: a king bed in the main bedroom with French doors to a Juliet balcony, a double in the second room, and two singles in the third. There are two bathrooms, each with a bath and shower.
Downstairs, the living room opens onto a patio through double doors, and there's a separate kitchen-dining space with a full cooker, microwave and washing machine. The essentials—heating, electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels—are all included. You get private parking for one car on site, and there's a picnic bench on your patio. The wider complex has a shared play area and gazebo in the gardens, and fishing is available on the on-site lake (a rod licence is needed). The property is non-smoking.
It's the kind of base for a week where some days you'll head to Winterton-on-Sea or further afield, and other days you won't leave the grounds at all. Families with young children will find a cot and highchair available on request.
