Ragwood Cottage

This converted barn sits on the owner's land near Wedmore, its exposed beams and open-plan design creating a spacious feel across the ground floor. Upstairs are two further rooms, giving the property flexibility for families or two couples: a kingsize bedroom with ensuite on the lower level, and two singles with a separate bathroom above.

The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking from scratch, with an electric oven, hob, dishwasher and all the usual appliances. The living area has a TV and DVD player. Bed linen, towels, wifi and heating are included; one well-behaved pet can stay without extra charge. Outside, there's an enclosed garden with terrace and fire pit, plus private parking on site.

Wedmore sits within easy reach of Somerset's main draws: Cheddar Gorge and its caves are two miles away, Wells cathedral and its Georgian streets are nearby, and the Mendips offer walking routes across both uplands and levels. The village has a shop 500 yards from the cottage, with a pub half a mile further and restaurants within two miles. No smoking indoors.

Beautiful cottage with all amenities, set in a peaceful location only reason for 4 is no welcome pack , which would have been a real bonus as all shops are quite a few miles away.

Our stay at Ragwood Cottage was nothing short of magical. Waking up to birdsong and enjoying morning coffee with views over rolling Somerset hills was pure bliss. The location is ideal for exploring the Cheddar Gorge, Wells, and Glastonbury, yet it feels like a hidden retreat away from the world. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. We left feeling relaxed, recharged, and already dreaming of our return. Ragwood Cottage is a true gem – a place where memories are made.

Beautiful setting, lovely clean and organised cottage. Great outside space and facilities inside excellent. Be aware that the shower upstairs is on a sloped ceiling so we swapped rooms and it was fine for me. The bed is missing a bolt at the bed head and the slats underneath were broken. Rather than disturb the hosts my son fixed it as best he could as it had collapsed on my first night. I had noticed that this issue was in a previous review. The friendly excited dog did bark and howl on our first night until late evening and until nearly midnight on Christmas eve. Luckily we were awake Christmas eve. Otherwise an idyllic setting and cottage. We saw a pheasant in the garden and had a lovely view out of the sitting room window

Excellent little secluded cottage on the outskirts of Cheddar (approx 5 mins drive). Private garden, lovely cottage features, ideal for a couples getaway with pets. Everything we needed
