Troon is a working seaside town with a long promenade, sandy beach and proper high street. It sits on the Ayrshire Coastal Path, making it a natural base for exploring south-west Scotland – the islands of Arran, Bute and Cumbrae are within reach by ferry, as are the Loch Lomond and Trossachs beyond Dunoon. Glasgow and Edinburgh are both under an hour away by car or train. The town itself has restaurants, pubs, shops, a yacht marina and Troon Links Golf Course nearby.
Tigh Beag is a ground-floor apartment sleeping two, set back from the main street with its own parking space and access to a small enclosed courtyard. Inside, there's a living and dining area with a TV and DVD player, a kitchen with electric cooking and a microwave, a double bedroom, and a shower room. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are included. An electric car charging point is available on site.
The beach is less than five minutes on foot. The property is not suitable for smoking. It's a straightforward base for a couple wanting to explore the coast or use it as a jumping-off point for bigger day trips – nothing fussy, just a place to stay.
