Field Lodge is a single-storey pine building set on a 400-acre arable farm in the National Forest. Everything is on ground level, from the open-plan living space through to both bedrooms and the bathroom, with a veranda overlooking the Mease Valley. The layout means minimal fuss for families with young children or anyone preferring not to navigate stairs.
Two bedrooms sleep four: a double and two singles. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking—electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer (shared). The living area has a woodburner, TV and DVD player. Bed linen and towels come with the booking. A lawned garden and veranda with furniture provide outdoor space; there's private parking on site. The pub is within a mile's walk. Note that this is a no-smoking property.
The farm's position makes it useful for accessing both the Peak District and attractions further afield: Alton Towers, Drayton Manor and Shugborough Hall are all within reach, and the Potteries lie nearby. Fishing, riding and golf are available locally. Cot and highchair are available if needed.
