Ate here for the first time this evening. I found the pricing of the food a little more expensive than other places for pub type food but the portion sizes are bigger and the menu has a great variety of dishes. The main course of mushroom enchiladas was delicious and the service was brilliant. My only gripe would be the desserts. The size of the portion for £8 I feel isn't very good value, but that wouldn't put me off returning in future. 🙂

We called in on the spur of the moment and they managed to find us a table. The service was excellent and staff were very friendly. But they should of warned us about the portions. We ordered starters with a garlic bread and mains. The starters came and they were large and very tasty. The mains came soon after and they were a hefty portion, very hot and delicious. I'm ashamed to say we had to take a doggy bag home. Will definitely be coming again.

Been going here for many years for meals to celebrate birthdays etc. Unfortunately our recent meal was not as good and notably certain items which would usually be included was not provided. I returned to the kitchen a very dry overcooked fillet steak, which i asked for medium expecting some pink, and requesting not to be red or bloody. My husbands steak was the same, he said he couldnt even put his fork into it and regrets not sending his back also. Otherwise the chips and salad was good and the newly cooked fillet was good. Dont think we will be going back again. Shame as we always raved about the Appleby Inn. Maybe it has been taken over.

Arrived for dinner 7:30pm on a Monday expecting it to be quiet, it was actually quite busy -always a good sign. Ubiquity of service staff is impressive. Within minutes I’d been served a drink. When I ordered food I waited no longer than 20minutes for an excellent calzone and salad. First class service team with quality food to match!
