Barley Cottage

The South Hams coastline spreads across the area around Barley Cottage—Bantham, Bigbury and Hope Cove are all within reach, as are the towns of Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth. The cottage itself sits within 28 acres of private grounds on the Colmer Estate near Modbury, surrounded by woodland, meadows and landscaped gardens rather than facing the sea directly.

Two bedrooms sleep four: one double and one single, plus a pull-out single bed in the second room. The bathroom has a bath with shower over. Downstairs is open-plan, with the kitchen, dining area and living room combined—there's an electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine and fridge for self-catering, plus a wood-burner and Freeview TV in the sitting area. An enclosed patio with seating faces the cottage. Essentials including bed linen, towels, electricity and wifi are provided.

The estate offers guests use of a heated indoor swimming pool (year-round), outdoor pool (late May to September), tennis courts, table tennis, gym and children's play area. Unfenced ponds and a stream run through the grounds. One dog can stay free. No smoking inside.
