Hope Cottage

Hope Cottage is a terraced property built from local stone, tucked within the Colmer Estate near Ivybridge. The cottage itself is modest but characterful, with original stonework framing the open-plan ground floor where the kitchen, dining and living spaces flow together. Two bedrooms occupy the first floor—one with a double bed, one with two singles—along with a bathroom. A private courtyard at the front, fully enclosed and furnished with a barbecue, provides a sheltered spot for the evening.

The 28-acre estate grounds surround the property, combining woodland, wildflower meadows and a walled orchard for exploration. Both an indoor pool (open year-round) and outdoor pool (heated in summer) sit within the shared facilities, alongside a tennis court, games room, gym and children's playground. Lawned areas behind the cottage connect via winding paths to these amenities. Parking for one car is provided on site, with additional spaces available in the guest car park. One dog is welcome; the courtyard is enclosed. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included.

The location suits families wanting countryside and activity without straying far from the coast—beaches are within a 20-minute drive. Kingsbridge, with shops and restaurants, is also nearby. The cottage is non-smoking throughout.
