About ibis Southampton Centre

ibis Southampton Centre offers a straightforward, budget-friendly base on West Quay Road, less than two miles from the cruise terminals and a five-minute walk from Southampton Central station. It is well suited to cruise passengers arriving the night before departure, and to visitors who want a no-frills city centre stay without paying for extras they will not use.

Rooms are compact but practical, and the hotel includes a restaurant, bar and free Wi-Fi throughout, along with pet-friendly rooms for travellers bringing dogs. On-site parking is available for an additional charge, useful given the hotel's central position where street parking is limited.

The absence of air conditioning is worth noting for summer stays, but the hotel's price point and location close to WestQuay, the train station and the old town make it one of the most convenient budget options in central Southampton.

No frills stay, clean and welcoming room, if a bit on the small size. Not going to impress a new partner, but good for a discreet meet!!! Joking. Only stayed one night and only problems were the heat which is all our faults, and the noise from party going on at a neighbouring hotel.

The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is good, 5 minute walk from the station. Small rooms but great for one night pre-cruise, lovely soft towels, as good as supplied at the Leonardo Grand, where I have previously stayed!

Stayed at the ibis Southampton Centre recently and overall had a good experience. The location is excellent, especially for the train station and city centre, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The room was clean and check-in was quick and easy. A couple of things stopped it from being a full 5 stars. The tap in the bathroom was quite rusty, which made the bathroom feel a bit worn out, and the bed was much firmer than expected, making it a little uncomfortable for sleeping. Despite those issues, it was still a decent stay for the price and I’d consider staying again because of the convenience and service.

Arrived at the hotel staff were pleasant. Room was on the shady side of the hotel so wasn't too hot. Air con hardly worked. Fan in the room was broken (we discovered at 3am). Dated room, pillows horrible, bathroom dated and tap on the bath has rust all around it. For £130 for 1 night not worth it. Have stayed previously but this is the last time. Mentioned on check out the fan not working and staff couldn't have cared less. No apology or nothing so didn't bother mentioned the other issues as why should I.
