Landguard House

Lovely b&b, host rang us to see how far away we were as had told him our expected time of arrival when booked but traffic delayed us, once we arrived , we were shown to our room which the owner had told us he had upgraded us, it was a lovely room, modern decor & we had a little kitchen with a the mod cons we needed. We were staying there to see Take That concert & host was very informative on how to get there & back

I stayed here last 2021-2022 before I moved to the US. I was browsing google maps and saw this place which served as my home for a little while and it brought back some memories while I was starting out with my life so I decided to leave this long overdue review. Loved the location and my landlord Baz is very easy to talk to. He also gave me my deposit back without any issues. Looking forward to stay here again when we visit UK in the future.

I wouldn't go anywhere else! I've been staying at Landguard House on and off over the last 10-years, but even more so recently due to recent work commitments locally. I've always found the rooms to be clean & tidy, warm in the winter (in summer there's a fan to stay cool). The en-suite and shower have always been immaculate, the water has always been hot and adequately powerful, the towels and bedding have always been clean and fresh, I've never had a problem. It's quiet and I have always felt safe. Being Just off the Shirley Road, it's only a few minutes walk to some excellent pubs, bars, restaurants and local shops! There's a dining area with an array of cups, plates and cuttlery, there's also a fridge and microwave available if you bring your own food which is handy for me, breakfast is a help-yourself, cereal, toast, tea/coffee, milk etc. There's also a kettle with coffee/tea in the room and the WiFi is excellent. It's not Buckingham Palace and I think some people expect it to be, but it to has stairs! It's genuinely very good value for money and personally I can't fault the place or the owner who has always been very helpful and accomodating. I have no hesitation in recommending to anyone!

Chose this for a couple of nights stay in Southampton. The room was a family room so more than big enough. Nice en suite shower and toilet. The breakfast is excellent and a good selection. Overall very welcoming and would consider an option on future visits to Southampton.
