About Landguard Lodge

Breakfast at Landguard Lodge is served in a relaxed dining room, setting the tone for a Victorian B&B that keeps things simple rather than showy. With just five rooms, it has the feel of a small, personally run guesthouse on Landguard Road in Southampton.

Rooms are modestly furnished with classic decor, each with an en-suite bathroom, free WiFi and drinks available in room. A 24 hour reception means arrival times are flexible, and free on-site parking takes the stress out of driving in. It's a straightforward, no-frills base rather than a place geared towards extra facilities on site.

Beyond the front door there's plenty to fill the day, with a pub or bar, restaurant and eatery all nearby, along with golf, fishing and watersports for those who want to get outdoors, plus entertainment options close by. It suits guests after an unfussy, well-located stay in Southampton without needing to travel far for their evening meal.

Very useful to be able to leave the car and do the 20 minute walk into city centre. Very attentive host. He made me a cup of tea (lovely tray with lot, milk jug etc) on arrival after a long drive as my room wasn’t quite ready. Very traditional style room but spotlessly clean with everything I needed. I managed to leave my purse with spare cards and cash in the bedroom drawer when I left. John phoned me and posted back at no cost to myself. Great service. Thank you

I could not decide whether to give four or five stars for each category but I think that if the weather had been better and the trains weren't on partial strike then I would have felt a bit brighter. The location is very close (5-10 minutes walk)to the central train station, bus stops and taxis. There are also 2 mini super stores (CoOp & Tesco)next to the train station. Another 10-15 minutes uphill and you are in the heart of the town. Breakfast is served first thing in the morning. I didn't stop for breakfast but I could smell the good flavours as they cooked. I thought that the room was excellent. I think that the bathroom was brand new and the bed was very comfortable.

One of the best BnBs I've stayed at in years. Friendly and responsive host who's actually at the property. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced. Room amenities and cleanliness very good. Would stay again.
